Foundation variants
High-performance foundation variants for maximum stability in the solar industry
Securely anchored with driven foundations, concrete foundations or screw foundations
Regardless of where your solar project is being built – whether on flat farmland, rolling hills, former industrial sites or challenging wasteland: the secure anchoring of the module tables in the ground is crucial for the longevity, operational reliability and cost-effectiveness of any ground-mounted photovoltaic system. Choosing the right foundation variant forms the foundation of a sustainable and technically convincing successful project.
Why foundation variants are crucial
While mounting systems for PV systems are often the focus of project planning, the supporting structure foundation is too often neglected – although it is crucial for the long-term stability of the entire system. Soil conditions, climatic effects and static load cases such as wind and snow loads must be solved in an optimally coordinated foundation.
Flexible foundation variants are essential in order to be able to react to different conditions. Whether compacted clay soil, gravelly substrates, silty soils or contaminated old sites – MEISER Solar offers a technically proven, standard-compliant solution for every challenge.
Systematic foundation variants: safety begins underground
A high-quality PV mounting system alone is not enough if the structural basis is not right. The anchoring technology used must safely transfer all wind, snow and dead loads into the ground over the long term – with minimum settlement, maximum corrosion resistance and a design adapted to the environment.
Different foundation solutions are used depending on the project requirements:
The perfect solution for almost any building site:
With this variant, the structures are rammed into the ground, giving them a firm hold in the subsoil.
For substrates where ramming or drilling is not possible:
For substrates where ramming or drilling is not possible, there is the concrete foundation variant. In this case, the substructures are individually adapted to the static load with concrete foundations and fixed in the ground.
Ideal for difficult and particularly loose soils:
MEISER Solar has an optimum foundation variant for particularly difficult and loose soils. The substructure is screwed into the ground and has optimum support despite difficult conditions.
Specialist planning right from the start: Planning security included
High-performance foundation variants for maximum stability in the solar industry
Right from the early planning phase, MEISER Solar and its experienced team of project managers, civil engineers and structural engineers support the selection and design of the optimum foundation. Whether on the basis of our own preliminary geotechnical investigations or in cooperation with external subsoil experts – the aim is always a safe, economical and legally sound design that satisfies all project partners.
Our foundation design is based on the relevant technical regulations and standards – including:
- DIN EN 1990 to DIN EN 1999 (Eurocode 0 to 9)
- DIN EN 1991-1-4 (wind loads)
- DIN EN 1991-1-3 (snow loads)
- EN 1090-2 (steel structures)
- as well as other international certifications and regional network codes
Quality that lasts even under extreme conditions!
Our foundation systems are characterized by their tried-and-tested design, high load-bearing capacity and long-lasting corrosion resistance. All components are designed for use in harsh environments – even with high humidity, frost changes or chemically contaminated soils.
Thanks to standardized system components and excellent project logistics, our foundation solutions can be installed particularly efficiently. This minimizes installation times and reduces sources of error on the construction site.
Further information on DIN-compliant design and the technical standard DIN EN 1991-1-4 (wind loads) can be found on the official website of the German Institute for Building Technology(DIBt):

Premium corrosion protection through piece galvanizing with hand finish
For long-term, reliable corrosion protection, the posts are individually piece-galvanized and finished by hand. For optimum cost efficiency, the zinc coating is determined on a project-specific basis.
In order to cope with increased zinc erosion – e.g. near the coast or in acidic soils (soil class III) – we use an additional special coating.
We guarantee a long service life and corrosion resistance for your system: MEISER Solar provides a warranty of up to 40 years for all our mounting systems.
Flexible foundation variants for any ground conditions
Our flexible foundation variants enable the safe installation of PV systems on fields, meadows, contaminated or sealed surfaces as well as in desert regions, damp soils and on coasts.
In the standard case, the foundation is made with driven piles, a proven foundation variant in which steel profiles are driven deep into the ground. This method offers maximum stability and is complemented by our decades of experience as a leading manufacturer of crash barrier systems.
Enlarged contact surfaces to the surrounding soil material on all sides ensure maximum resistance to compressive, tensile and shear forces. Thanks to modern roll-forming technology, foundation variants can be individually adapted to site conditions – for a secure, durable and economical basis for your PV system.
